Blue Velvet

Blue Velvet was so weird! In a good way! I’ve been meaning to get into David Lynch’s work and I think Blue Velvet was a good introduction. The contrast between the seemingly perfect '80s American town and the perverted, confusing world of Dorothy and Frank was done masterfully and impactfully. The repressed sexuality of this perfect White America manifested into a perplexing mystery of Freudian desire and sexually charged violence, all to the tune of “Blue Velvet," which was haunting and beautiful. I really liked this film.
